The Canadian Federation of Students and the Circle of First Nations, Metis & Inuit Students stand in solidarity with Niindinawemaganidog (All Our Relations) during this time of mourning with Indigenous peoples.

In honour of the 215 children who did not return home to their families and their communities from the Kamloops Residential School and all residential schools, we echo the calls of action from communities in mourning to honour the families, communities and kinship affected by these atrocities.

Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island continue the critical work of building spaces of support and resistance. The Circle of First Nations, Metis & Inuit Students welcomes all Indigenous students, offering a place to seek support, solidarity and a space to organize alongside community members.

The Federation reaffirms its commitment to end any and all forms of colonialism, believing that it is our collective responsibility to recognize and honour survivors, communities and all affected by Residential Schools. We stand with the calls to action put forward by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and work to honour the truths of the Residential School experience.
